Best Time to Visit

Cape Town & Western Cape

November to March (Southern Hemisphere summer) Cape Town & Franschhoek: The ideal time is during the South African summer, from November to March, when the weather is warm, sunny, and perfect for outdoor activities, Spring (September to November) is also lovely, with blooming gardens and mild temperatures.

Sabi Sands / Kruger National Park

May to September (dry winter season) The dry winter months, from May to September, are prime for game drives, with animals more easily spotted due to sparse foliage. The weather is cooler and less rainy.

Hazyview / Panorama Route

May to September Mild, dry weather perfect for exploring waterfalls, Blyde River Canyon, and elephant interactions.

Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe / Zambia)

February to May (late summer / autumn) The dry season from May to October offers clear skies and optimal viewing of the falls when water levels are lower, but the spray and spectacle remain breathtaking. The high-water season (November to April) creates a more massive waterfall but with more mist and lush surroundings.

Chobe National Park, Botswana

May to October (dry season) Wildlife congregates along the Chobe River; elephants and hippos are abundant. Comfortable daytime temperatures and minimal rain.

November–April (wet season) brings lush scenery but can limit wildlife sightings due to dispersed animals.

Okavango Delta, Botswana

June to October (dry season / water high)

Dry season offers excellent game viewing; animals gather near water channels.

The delta floods peak between June–August, creating ideal conditions for mokoro (canoe) trips.
