What to Expect
The Lodge can accommodate 42 guests, making it perfect for families, couples, individual travelers, boutique weddings or groups of friends. The Phelwana Collection comprises of our Luxury Tented Camp and Luxury Bush Villas. All our accommodations have high speed internet and Wi-Fi access for our guest’s convenience.
Set in a private reserve, our guests have the chance to see some of Africa’s most renowned plains animals up close, including hippos, zebras, buffalos, and giraffes. With game drives and bush walks available, opportunities are plentiful to explore the breathtaking landscape with one of our experienced guides and get up close and personal with the wildlife.

Luxury Tented Camp – Two Sleeper
Our six uniquely appointed Luxury Tents with varying vistas, offer our guests a luxury glamping experience. Each tent is beautifully designed with comfortable beds, high-quality linens, and modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding nature from their private decks or take a dip in their private plunge pools.
Luxury Bush Villas – Six Sleeper
Ideal for families, a feeling of space is what comes to mind when staying in the Villas. Three large bedrooms sleeping 6 guests in comfort, leading off a large lounge. A private pool is situated alongside the Villa offering privacy in a landscaped garden.
Luxury Bush Villas – Four Sleeper
Two of our oldest villas based on the typical hunter’s lodge design. Two bedrooms en suite offer space and comfort to our guests. Thatched ceilings add to the nostalgia of the past creating an old-world charm. Nyala buck often frequent the lawn grazing during the day. A large private pool offers a tranquil setting for relaxation.
Luxury Bush Villas – Two Sleeper
Based on a traditional thatched Rondawel design, these two Villas, with large private swimming pools, are ideal for honeymooners and couples looking for privacy and tranquility. The interiors are tastefully decorated with local artwork and feature all the modern amenities required for a comfortable stay.
Sky Deck – Two Sleeper
Upgrade your accommodation for a once in a lifetime experience. Spend a night on the Phelwana Sky Deck, perched, overlooking the Phelwana Dam. Listen to the hippos frolicking and a symphony of bushveld noises with the stars as your evening’s entertainment.
Game drives are offered daily. Set in a private reserve, our guests have the chance to see some of Africa’s most renowned plains animals up close, including hippos, zebras, buffalos, and giraffes.
Remember, each game drive is unique, and while the guides do their best to maximize sightings, nature is unpredictable. The beauty lies in embracing the unexpected and revelling in the sheer wonder of the African bush.
Refreshments and light snacks will be offered to our guests. Guests are reminded to bring their camera and something warm to wear.
Guests from the age of 12 are accompanied by our experienced field guides and depart from the Main Lodge at 07:00 where they will be lead on a bush walk to discover the diverse wildlife that roams our reserve.
Our Guides will share their extensive knowledge of the regions fauna and flora thereafter returning to the Main Lodge for a hearty breakfast.
For the fishing enthusiasts, catch-and-release fishing is offered on two of the magnificent dams on the reserve which are home to three species of fish, namely Catfish, Tilapia and Carpe.
Guests can enquire at reception and our knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides will assist you with fishing equipment and setup.
