What to Expect
Set on a secluded tree island in the heart of the Busanga Plains, Shumba is an intimate and exclusive safari camp offering one of the most remote wilderness experiences on earth. Open for just five months each year, this hidden gem delivers extraordinary big cat encounters in a truly untouched setting.
The rich diversity of the Busanga Plains attracts an abundance of wildlife, from rare antelope such as oribi, roan, and sable to formidable predators including lion, wild dog, and cheetah. Here, dramatic interactions unfold as resident prides defend their territories against nomadic males, revealing the raw and ever-changing dynamics of life in the wild.

Each large and well-appointed en-suite tent features an inviting separate seating area, and an outdoor shower, open to the sky, all offering spectacular views of the surrounding plains.
Family Accommodation
(1 Room)
There is one spacious family room which sleeps four comfortably. Consisting of one large room separated by a screen to make a main and a second bedroom, each has two three-quarter beds. The shared en-suite facilities include indoor and outdoor showers, and a double basin vanity, as well as separate toilet.
Game Drive
On game drives in open 4×4 vehicles, guests may catch sight of the celebrated lion prides of the Busanga Plains, including other predators such as cheetah and wild dogs – plus scores of plains game such as puku, red lechwe, buffalo and wildebeest; perhaps even the rare roan antelope feeding on the fertile grasses.
