This epic 27-Day African Odyssey blends culture, scenery, and wildlife across Southern Africa’s most iconic destinations. Start in Cape Town exploring the Cape Peninsula, the vineyards of Franschhoek, and the beauty of the Garden Route. Continue to Addo and Shamwari for unforgettable Big 5 safaris amid serene wilderness.
Journey onward to Victoria Falls for breathtaking views and romantic Zambezi River cruises. Then, unwind with private river safaris on Namibia’s Impalila Island before ending in Botswana’s Okavango Panhandle, gliding through pristine waterways on tranquil mokoro excursions under starry African skies.

Touch down at Cape Town International and transfer to the charming Parker Cottage. It’s a cozy, welcoming base nestled close to the city’s pulse. Spend a full day soaking in the stunning Cape Peninsula—driving along rugged coastlines, stopping at beautiful beaches and nature reserves, and visiting iconic spots like Cape Point and Boulders Beach’s penguin colony.
Self-drive to Franschhoek, checking into the elegant Maison Chablis Guest House surrounded by vineyards. Ride the famed Franschhoek Wine Tram for a relaxed wine tasting tour, hopping between top wineries and enjoying gourmet local fare in quaint villages.
Head further along the scenic Garden Route to Knysna Hollow Country Estate. Here, the lagoons and forests invite you to explore by boat or on foot. Spend your days sampling local delights, wandering markets, and taking quiet moments in nature.
Drive into Addo and check in at Camp Figtree Addo. Expect close encounters with large elephant herds and diverse wildlife in this malaria-free park. Full game drives and walking safaris reveal the hidden corners of this wilderness, with evenings spent around campfires sharing stories and local cuisine.
Continue on to Founders Lodge by Mantis in Shamwari Game Reserve. Days here mean more safari drives targeting the Big 5, complemented by luxury accommodations and fine dining. The reserve’s private and less busy nature creates a serene, personal experience.
Self-drive to Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport and fly to Johannesburg. Transfer to Sunrock Guesthouse, a comfortable city hotel. Use the day to relax or explore Johannesburg’s museums and restaurants.
Fly to Victoria Falls and check into Bayete Guest Lodge. Witness the thunderous Victoria Falls and enjoy the famed Wild Horizons Malachite Dinner Cruise—a romantic sunset cruise with drinks and dinner on the Zambezi River. The rest of your time can be filled with guided tours, helicopter flights, or wildlife activities.
Transfer overland to Kasane and onward to Ichingo Chobe River Lodge by Mantis on Impalila Island. Days here offer tranquil river safaris, fishing, birdwatching, and peaceful evenings at the lodge watching wildlife leisurely come to the river.
Fly by charter from Kasane to Kala Camp in the Okavango Panhandle. This exclusive camp layers luxury with wildness amid palm-lined lagoons and floodplains. Enjoy mokoro excursions, boat safaris, walking safaris, and private dinners under the stars.
Fly from Kala Camp to Maun International Airport for connecting flights back to Johannesburg and onwards.
