What to Expect
Designed to embody the soothing shapes of ancient boulders scattered along the riverbank and completely immersed in the wild, Boulders Lodge allows you to find yourself in nature. Each of this contemporary retreat’s 12 glass-fronted suites offers the utmost privacy, ultra-spacious interiors and heated pools, with handmade furnishings and soft, natural fabrics mirroring the breathtaking scenery outside.
Guests can enjoy wrap-around views from most parts of the natural stone lodge, and the lookout deck offers the perfect spot from which to observe wildlife drawn to the Sand River. The quiet pond alongside the thatched lounge area allows the light and the landscape inside to the wide open spaces, where straw baskets, neutral shades and textured fabrics complement wooden furniture.
Singita Boulders Lodge offers twelve suites, all with their own en suite bathroom and shower, outside shower, private heated swimming pool, double-sided fireplace, mini bar and fridge, room mini safe, air-conditioning, overhead fans, private lounge, direct dial telephones and game-viewing deck.
Highlights
Each suite is designed not just for aesthetic pleasure but for functional luxury. They boast private plunge pools and wildlife viewing decks, where one can sip a morning coffee or a sunset cocktail while wildlife roams freely in the vicinity. The commitment to comfort is palpable, with every detail, from the plush towels to the artisan-crafted furniture, serving to enhance the guest experience, ensuring that each stay is nothing short of spectacular.
The game drives are led by experienced rangers and trackers who are not only knowledgeable about the wildlife and ecosystem but are also passionate about conservation. These drives traverse diverse terrains, from rolling grasslands dotted with elephants and giraffes to dense woodlands hiding elusive leopards and other predators. The lodge’s unique location ensures that guests often have front-row seats to breathtaking encounters with the Big Five.
Our guides love to share their incredible knowledge of the bushveld – and as you track animals through the landscape, they will point out nature’s little mysteries, large and small. The terrain is vast and varied – and not only will you learn about the extensive variety of animals that make the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve their home, you will also find out about the vegetation, trees and plants – many of which have medicinal properties.
Guests will enjoy sightings of grassland mammals – herds of buffalo, giraffe and kudu, and may even catch a glimpse of a wild dog or an elephant or two. The birdlife in the region is spectacular, and you may be astonished to find out how many bird calls our field guides can identify.
We suggest a minimum age of 16 years for this activity, but participation is at the discretion of your Field Guide.
