Moreover, visits to the Born Free Rescue Centre and Shamwari Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre provide valuable opportunities for kids to expand their conservation knowledge and connect with wildlife.
Partnered with the Born Free Foundation, our game reserve hosts the Big Cat Rescue and Education Centres, emphasizing the plight of captive wild cats worldwide. Founded by actress and conservationist Virginia McKenna and her late husband Bill Travers, the Born Free Foundation shares our mission to protect these species and their habitats with compassion for animal welfare. These centres house rescued lions and leopards, offering educational experiences.
The Born Free Foundation, a UK-based wildlife charity, rescues animals from captivity and cares for them in spacious sanctuaries, protecting endangered species in their natural habitats. Collaborating with local communities, Born Free seeks humane solutions for peaceful coexistence between people and wildlife. Established in 1984, it garners global support, including from Shamwari Private Game Reserve.
