Eagles Crag, one of the lodges within the reserve, provides the epitome of luxury and privacy against a backdrop of breathtaking scenery. Comprising nine luxurious suites crafted from glass and stone, this accommodation allows you to connect with nature while enjoying modern comforts. The suites offer unobstructed views of the rugged rock faces where eagles soar. The well-secluded design ensures that you can enjoy the utmost privacy during your stay. Eagles Crag recently underwent extensive upgrades and renovations in 2018, to offer guests an even more luxurious experience.

Explore indulgence in our 9 junior suites, designed for a maximum of 2 adults. Experience ultimate comfort with climate control, tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer, electronic safe, international adapters, telephone, and Wi-Fi. The en-suite bathroom offers a bath, shower, and outdoor shower for a rejuvenating experience. Enjoy refreshments from your private minibar, step onto your serene private deck, and take a dip in the heated plunge pool. These suites offer luxurious comfort, blending modern amenities with a tranquil ambiance.
Enjoy game drives in the active mornings and afternoons on open, comfortable vehicles with trained rangers guiding you through the reserve, providing opportunities to spot various animals. Inform your guide about specific interests, and they’ll do their best to accommodate your preferences.
For a comfortable and memorable experience, remember to bring binoculars, cameras, warm clothing, sunscreen, and a hat. Game drives typically last three to four hours and include a morning coffee stop and an evening sundowner break. Our knowledgeable rangers can answer your questions and cater to your interests. Note that children under 4 are not allowed on the drives, but a childminder can be arranged at an extra cost.
In addition to spectacular game drives, Shamwari Game Reserve also offers professionally guided walking tours. Here, you can gain a true perspective of the flora and fauna indigenous to the region. Your guide can point out animal tracks, dung, hiding spots, rare birds and educate you on the area and its history.
Unfortunately, no children under the age of 16 or adults over the age of 65 (unless provided with a doctor’s certificate of fitness) are permitted on these walks.
